WHAT DOES MONTESSORI LA MAISON DES ENFANTS OFFER THE CHILD?
Montessori La Maison des Enfants is a children house instead of a traditional school. It is a pre-established environment especially designed for the child, where he is exposed to acknowledge the diffuse cultures of the environment not even needing any kind of learning.
Education is not what the teacher brings, but it is a natural process developed spontaneously in a human being not acquired by listening to words but through multiple experiences in the said environment. The teacher's task is not to talk, but to assemble a series of cultural activities in an ambiance prepared accordingly. At Montessori La Maison des Enfants, the program offered is divided into four major areas.
1. Practical Life: Exercises of adult chores that are found in everyday living but geared to the child. Through these exercises the child develops independence and muscular coordination.
2. Sensorial: Refines the five senses which are the tools to learning. This area teaches the child to order, classify and categorize perceptions in the environment.
3. Language: Gives the child the tools that lead to reading and writing.
4. Mathematical Concepts: Taught in a concrete way so that the child can eventually think in an abstract manner.
In addition, the child will be introduced to:
• Geography • Social Studies
• Spanish/French • Music
• Outdoor Activities • Arts & Crafts
• Science • Nature
